The Dini Group Introduces the DN7000k10PCI for ASIC prototyping, IP development and algorithmic acceleration. Here are >3.5 million ASIC gates on an easy to use, PCI-hosted board. The DN7000k10PCI supports up to 3 of the largest Altera Stratix II FPGA’s, the EP2S180. Each FPGA has it’s own 64-bit DDR2 SODIMM socket, which can be stuffed with 1 GB of DDR2 memory. The DINI Group has alternate DDR2 compatible SODIMMs, which house SSRAM, QDR SSRAM, FLASH, mictors, or RLDRAM. The industry’s highest performance PCI controller, the QuickLogic QL5064, allows for high performance PCI mastermoding without making any demands on the FPGAs. Configuration is handled via PCI, Compact Flash, or USB.

ASIC and FPGA designers using the PCI Bus can prototype logic designs for a fraction of the cost of existing solutions. “Here is the best solution for PCI ASIC prototyping,” says Mike Dini president of The Dini Group. “ Developers of complex, high speed ASICs will find this board to be the most cost effective way to emulate their designs at anything like target frequencies.” The DN7000k10PCI will be supplied with 1,2 or 3 FPGAs; prices start at only $7,650. They are available directly from The Dini Group and their agents with leadtimes of 2 weeks or less.

The Dini Group was established in 1995 as a consulting company. While developing ASICs for various clients they saw the need for cost effective logic emulation platforms and developed several of them. In 1998 they started selling these platforms to ASIC developers and FPGA system users. From their offices in La Jolla the dozen Dini Group employees have supplied over one billion ASIC gates.
